Vivien of Holloway Brocade perfection

Hello sweethearts!

OMG February already?! Days fly when you are a bussy bee. If it is judged by how it began, 2016. will be an excellent year! As usual I stay home for New Year's Eve, but I had always dreamed of a perfect sarong style dress for that occasion. Vivien of Holloway are famous for creating the ultimate pin up hourglass shape with their boned halter neck dresses so when I got a chance to review one of their gorgeous dresses I was just overjoyed!

It wasn't a doubt that I want a sarong style but how to choose between 58 (58!!!!) different available colours?! My heart went for elegant 1940's style silver black brocade sarong ♥♥♥

By my measures I was suggested to get a size B34, W26 (label size 12) which is smaller than I usually wear but since this dress has boning in bodice it is important to have a right fit at the waist. Since I lost some weight (and still working on it) dress was a perfect fit!

If you are unsure about the size go with the measures of your waist and hips because the dress will mould to your shape. And if you need extra room for your bust (like I do) you can wear it without your bra, I guarantee you will be well supported as the strategic boning in the dress is carefully designed from the waist through the bust to give you the curvy and wasp-waisted silhouette. Or you can always ask for an advice from a kind VOH team :)

I adore cute matching bolero that goes with this dress (mine is a size S)! It adds that extra bit of glamour to the ensemble and it's cut to suit the dress perfectly. Flattering bolero sits just a little above the waist (Im 5,7 tall so If you are shorter it will sit on your waist). It also has a little collar and capped sleeves to cover your back a little or tops of your arms in a chilly night out.

Since I am a huge 1940's enthusiast I just cant imagine this dress without a bolero, for me this is a perfect match and I love to wear it with and without bolero but than it has to be in my arms...just like cocktail ;)

My brocade silver black sarong dress has a gorgeous fabric, light and soft for that warm summer nights but still firm to hold it's shape, particularly in the draped part of sarong skirt.

Elegant black fabric is embroidered with understated oriental flower pattern with silver threads. It is perfect for weddings and other special occasions, but hey, why wear it only then? Every day is a special occasion!

I was always concern over those armpit bulges that show up in halter neck strap dresses and I guess that's why I haven't found then particularly comfortable. This wider style of halter neck strap is really flattering because it is placed just below the curve of the bust so it skims over that area comfortably and emphasizes sweetheart neckline.

One side draped skirt falls beautifully over the stomach area and gathers on the hip which is perfect for anyone who is a little conscious of their tummy area.

And if you are up for a little sass, this sarong  splits to a very modest area witch allows a little more movement in the dress but also surely make heads turn!

So if you want a beautiful sarong dress look no further! Or if you are in UK even better! Visit 294 Holloway Road in London or http://www.vivienofholloway.com/ and get yourself an hourglass shape in one of Vivien of Holloway designs!

Red poppy makes Eloise fabulous

Hello sweethearts!

First blog post in 2016. and may I say it is banging!

First I wanna say a huge thanks for 10K on Instagram, for me it is mind-blowing! There are no words to say how much I love pin up community, girls, brands and fellow bloggers... It is great to be surrounded by so much love and support ♥♥♥
Spring is just around the corner (at least in my part of the planet) and we are all excited to see SS2016 collections of out favorite brands! For me, my absolutely number one is Voodoo Vixen so I couldn't resist to try out one of their most popular pieces of AW collection, and since I lost some weight I decided to go bold and try out Voodoo Vixen Eloise dress.

What first attracted me to this dress is the finish of the neckline, low back and the sleeves. Eloise has that gorgeous wavy hem which emphasizes the silhouette and beautiful puppy print.

Sophisticated houndstooth print revives high quality poppy flowers and elbow length sleeves makes this dress perfect for spring and winter. I will get my masters degree in social work this spring so finding an office appropriate vintage inspired clothes is one of my missions and Eloise is perfect for a day at the office and drink with the girls after!

Not only is it pretty, it is also comfortable! Fabric is made out of  97% cotton and 3% elastane which gives her a comfortable stretch, just enough to hug your curves. And yey for the zip closure in the center of the back, it can be a little tricky because of the low cut but I still love it more than pulling it over my head.

Eloise has a cute thin belt in matching fabric and if you want to complete this look Voodoo Vixen has a matching bag and cardigan ANDDDD they offer a 10% off if you buy two or more from their popular poppy range with code "POPPY10!"

I pared my Eloise dress with red pumps and felt hat from ebay, plastic red earrings and custom made red coat.

Hope you enjoyed and found this review helpful because there is more of where that came from!

Love, Eleanor

Lindy Bop: girls dresses and wish list

Hello sweethearts!

My last Lindy Bop blog post is here! This time I will review my daughters first Lindy Bop dress and show you what is on my wish list (but not in my Shopping basket) so stick around!

I was super excited when Lindy Bop released their kids collection! I have a 6 year old daughter and, although she is not into fashion yet, I wanted to show her all those pretty dresses- of course, she was thrilled! She couldn't decide on her own what dress to purchase so I decided for her.

We got the 'Mini Grace' Children's Leopard Print Dress in size 7/8.

I will say right away- we love it!

What moms are immediately interested in when buying online is sizing- yes, Lindy Bop kids range is true to size chart on their page. My girl wears 122/128 size that firts 7/8yrs.

Mini Grace is a beautiful fully lined dress. It is made out of good quality, medium weight stretch cotton (I would compare it with Lindy Bop adult Wendy or Ola dress, it is not as thick as Ophelia and not thin like Audrey).

It has a wide flared skirt and bateau neckline so it is perfect for little girls! It is appropriate and very comfortable.

Dress has a hidden back zip and cute tie on the waist. I love it because it is winter in Croatia now so we can wear Grace with simple black shirt underneath or cardigan and thick tights.

And most important- little miss approves! ♥♥♥

I guess there is hope for a mother and daughter matchy style in the future :)

And now! My Lindy Bop wish list! I resisted huge sale because I was not 100% sure that the dresses on my list will fit me right. At the top of my list are "Matilda" dresses, I love that dress pattern so much and that is why 3 "Matildas" are on my list:

pink heart print, red polka dots and the famous bicycle print . BUT my main concer is that the waist on this dress is too high for my figure like on most of my LB dresses. I'm actually pretty sure that this dress wouldn't fit me but I am in love with the print and pattern.

'Suzie' Black Rockabilly Pin Up Dress and 'Mandy Lyn' 1950's Rockabilly Swing Dress in Vintage Olive Green are also on my wish list.

I find 'Aleena' Soft Pink Prom / Bridesmaid Dress and 'Ophelia' Dove Grey Evening Dress the impeccable dresses for a wedding! I love the lace on Aleena and the color of Ophelia, these two dresses will be in my basket very soon!

'Joy' Butchers Stripe Swing Dress and 'Janessa' Cabernet Polka Tea Dress are so beautiful but again, Im not sure about the waist.

Finally who could resist a perfect holiday dress?! 'Renee' Green Alpine Print Twin Set is an ultimate Christmas dress!

And after Christmas perfect dresses to wiggle into a New Year are 'Zsa Zsa' Leopard Print Twin Set Wiggle Dress and 'Lita' Black Cocktail Wiggle Dress.

Have a nice holidays everyone!

Love, Eleanor
