Lindy Bop: blues

Hello sweethearts!

Holiday season has begun and so are the sales. But I am not going to write about that, not yet.
First let me write about two of my Lindy Bop dresses in blue: 'Ionia' Sea Blue Flared Shirt Swing Dress and 'Ola' Vintage 1950's Hawaiian Floral Sarong Style Wiggle dress which is currently available in light blue but I'm sure it will be back in floral too soon.

Ionia sea blue was a perfect day time 40's inspired dress for me, but unfortunately when I got her I didn't know what I know now and it came way too small for me. I asked for a size UK12 but since the dress is thin and very lights cotton fabric it runs small so it literally burst at the seams on me :(

It didn't fit on me, mostly on my bust and the waist was higher than it should be so when I realized I really can't wear it, with a heavy heart  I sold it. The dress itself is amazing! Perfect for summer! It's beautiful vibrant blue color with a contrasting pink polka dots and super cute (real) flower shaped buttons.

I loved the idea of wearing it with saddle shoes and just driving around on my bike while light wide flared skirt flutters in the wind. I really like the flattering V shaped neckline and short sleeves! Ionia has hidden side zip that I don't like but I loved the  back tie.

Before I said goodbye to her I did managed to get some nice styles covering the critical parts of the dress on me:

I totally grieve for this dress so if you like it go buy it now! It's a must have :)

Opposed to Ionia, Ola is a bombshell dress! It si a glamour fab sarong style dress inspired by 1950's holiday parties. And boy I sure do love to party in it ;)

Ola is made out of thicker medium weight cotton fabric so it still fits me in size UK12 although I am UK14 now, and it provides a little strech so it is very comfortable!

Decorative, flattering waterfall ruffle to left side of skirt is perfect for a tummy hide and the extra wide halter neck ties gives your girls the right support ;) This dress is great for busty gals and the ones who, like me, wear a size 14 and up because it is elasticated on the top of the back for extra comfort & great fit and has a flattering subtle sweetheart halter neck.

Ola is designed to create the perfect hourglass 50’s silhouette so if you want to dress to impress next summer be sure to check it out. It is one of my favorite dresses!

And Lindy Bop is still running a huge sale: http://www.lindybop.co.uk/sale-c49

Lindy Bop: very vintage

Hello sweethearts!

Welcome to my third Lindy Bop review, I hope you will find it useful and interesting. Today I am reviewing 'Holly' 1950's Inspired Blue Butterfly Swing Dress and 'Zarah' Vintage 1940's Secretary/Librarian Fit & Flare Dress.

Holly is a Audrey style dress with ¾ sleeves. It is made out of thicker good quality cotton fabric so even I am a size UK14 now my Holly is size UK12 and still fits me perfectly.

Holly is a beautiful 1950's inspired blue butterfly swing dress. It comes with a matching removable belt and it's perfect for spring and autumn.

I don't have many longer sleeve dresses so this is one of my most worn dresses in winter seasons and I love to pair it with my 26“ pink petticoat.
I really don't have any  complaints about this dress: it is classy, great for work and daily occasions, fabric is nice and zipper is on the back so no messing up my hair yeeeey ;)

And for all of you gals who want to add Holly to your wardrobe- it is on sale: http://www.lindybop.co.uk/sale-c49/dresses-sale-c50/holly-1950s-inspired-blue-butterfly-swing-dress-p312 !

I am a huge fan od 1940’s style so Zarah was a must have for me! When this dress first came up I was reading the comments and they weren't so great but I did really liked it.

It is a fabulous 1940's style fit 'n' flare dress. Zarah is also made out of good quality slightly stretch cotton fabric with sweetheart neckline and bust panel with bow detail. Precisely that bow reminded a lot of gals on a bra. OK, perhaps Zarah isn't for everyone ;)

It was a little longer, just below knee which I really liked but on the second thought I noticed that it doesn't suit my figure so I shortened it to knee length.

I love to wear it at autumn and winter seasons because it is a little thicker and goes great with cardigans, colors are appropriate and with a few well imagined accessories it can be very festive!

Oh Lindy Bop you are gonna spoil us :)
Even I couldn't resis this sale so new dress is on my way but I wount tell you witch one is it ;)
I also ordered one for my daughter so I will review kids range too!

Lindy Bop: florals

Hello sweethearts!

This will be my second Lindy Bop post and today I'm all about florals! As you probably know Lindy Bop has a lot of floral
dresses, I will present to you two of my own-
'Ophelia' Vintage 1950's Black Floral Spring Garden Party Picnic Dress and 'Uma' White Floral Tea Dress.

'Ophelia' Vintage 1950's Black Floral Spring Garden Party Picnic Dress was my first Lindy Bop purchase. I feel in love with that dress because of her crossover ruched bust panel and rich full circle skirt.

Ophelia comes in a lot of different floral prints and solid colors so it was quite a headache to choose which one would suit me. I was really into green one but at the end black prevailed because of mine constant consciousness about my weight.

At that time I was wearing a size UK12 and Ophelia suited me perfectly which confirms my impression that Lindy Bop dresses made out of thiner fabric are smaller in sizing. Ophelia is made out of thicker good quality medium weight stretch cotton fabric so it has a nice shape and fall. I wore it with a black 26" petticoat.

I love everything about this dress! Fitted bodice, flared skirt, hidden side pockets!! and nice zip on the back. Unfortunately I do not own it anymore, I became too small for me, so with a heavy heart,I sent her in a better home.

Unlike Ophelia, 'Uma' White Floral Tea Dress my recent purchase.

I knew I have to buy her, it was my dream dress! But, unfortunately it doesn't fit like a dream :( Due to the fact that I am a busty gal waist on this dress is a little bit higher that where it should be which makes my torso shorter and my figure disproportional :(

Other than that I love this dress! It is made out of medium weight cotton fabric so it is true to size, I am wearing UK14. Flattering V shaped collared neckline and short cuffed sleeves are my favorite! It has a matching removable fabric belt witch I often replace with a wider one, I find that much suitable for my figure.

Buttons in the front of a bodice section are real so they come in handy because this dress utilizes a side zip which means that you have to pull it over your head. I find it very cute paired with a cardigan so it is a great frock to wear in the spring and autumn.

Lindy Bop: solid essentials

Hello sweethearts!

Woah time flies! It has been three weeks since my last post and given the fact that I haven't taken any photos lately I have decided to share some old ones.
I don't have to say how much I love my wardrobe and my dresses, my face lights up like a Christmas tree when I open the doors of my closet :)

Most of my dresses are Lindy Bop, brand that, I believe, every gal knows. Their dress was my first vintage repro and made me feel like "That's it! Now I am a pin up girl!"
Since then I have owned 9 of their dresses, I have 7 now (had to sell two because I've got a few extra pounds; but i'm working on it!)
In the next few posts I will review my Lindy Bop dresses and show you how I like to wear and accessorise them.

Let's start with two of my most worn dresses, solid color essentials that every gal needs: Audrey and Lily.

Audrey is a beautiful 50's style swing dress with a classic flattering bateau neckline and fitted bodice. I have to admit- dusky orange was not my first choice of color but at that time it was only one that was available in my size, and great that it was! I love it!

But following the size chart I ordered my (at that time) size UK12 not knowing that  Audrey style dress ran small :(
It is made out of cotton fabric so it is not stretchy and it wrinkles A lot but for price of 30 £ (45$/ 42€ / 318HRK) you win some you lose some.

But I have to say I love it! I wear it all year long because it's super easy to match with cardigans, blouses and whatever you think of!

The fact that it's a single color provides countless opportunities to style her! I like to wear my petticoat underneath because it gives her a great shape.

It has a hidden side zip that I'm not a huge fan of and removable matching belt.

You can see why I wear this dress so much, a little brooch or a belt can go a long way and make it look like a different dress every time!

This year I wore it as a Halloween costume :)

The other part of my Halloween costume this year was my little black Lily dress.

Can you believe this is my ONLY black dress?! This one is also purchased randomly because Rhonda was out of stock hahaha it seems that the universe knows what I need and makes sure that I get it :)

Unlike Audrey, Lily has a little firmer cotton fabric so it is true to size and better quality. I am wearing UK14 and it fits very comfortable and nice.

Elegant peep hole cut outs are featured in front and at the back of neckline. Since this is the only black dress I have, I do prefer to wear it #allblackeverything but it is perfect for accessorising! My most favorite color to complement the black is pink :)

This one is by far one of my favorite styles accessorised with hot pink belt, nylon scarf and soft pink shoes that matches my Frenchie brooch by Atomic Mingo.
