Daisy Jean's sparkly tear drop

Hello sweethearts!

I, like every other girl, loooove accessories! My favorites are bracelets, brooches and earrings and I feel that no outfit is complete without them, at least when we talk about vintage (reproduction).
In the sea of gorgeous jewellery I somehow neglected earrings although I wear them every day (ops!), I just got too comfortable wearing ordinary pearls in various colors. Luckily Daisy Jean Floral Designs saved me and sent me this lovely Heather's Big Resin Tear Drop earrings!

And if you feel adventurous you can order them in a blending of two glitter colours! Other than tear drop shape, resin earrings by Daisy Jean Floral Designs is available in various shapes, sizes and colors.

Resin is a plastic so these earrings are light in weight and the yummy colors resemble the look of seaglass! Although these are plastic, be careful not to drop them on hard surfaces- they may chip on impact. Other than that, they are durable and will go with just about any outfit you wear!

I will send you a postcard ♥

August 23 is approaching, if you don't know already, I'm going to UK for a couple of days to visit my dear friend Eniko (visit her blog HERE). So! I'm slowly thinking about the outfits and really enjoying just planning and matching dresses with shoes and accessories. The highlight of my trip will definitely be Twinwood Festival so apparel for that day must be perfect- and I think I found it!

 

 

Black postcard dress by Love Ur Look Clothing & Vintage is beautiful, unique and comfortable! Excellent for a day full of dancing and thrifting. Black postcard dress features short sleeves, pockets and matching fabric belt. It is made out of 100% soft cotton with a fun vintage postcards print on a black base. The pop of orange and pink flowers lifts the whole dress and gives plenty of ways to accessorise. I love the peach buttons up the front of a bodice section- buttons are real so they come in handy because this dress utilizes a side zip which means that you don't have to pull it over your head if you styled your hair first (like I often do), you can just hop into the dress.

 

 

Ronke’s focus on  fun key points of design is evident in a few inches of pink tulle at the bottom of lining to give skirt a petticoat effect. A-line skirt falls just below my knees and has a great shape with and without a petticoat.

 

 

I adore shirt style dresses so I was immediately drawn to this dress because of her cute and unexpected collar design and spacious pockets. Self-tie belt fits any waist size and Love Ur Look Clothing  comes in sizes XS-XXL1. I'm wearing a size M (UK12) which fits perfectly, even the capped sleeves are nice and wide (for reference my measurements are about 36" bust and 26" waist).

Hang Loose

First let me thank you all for 10 000+ views and so many nice comments on my last post, you really warmed my heart ♥♥
Today I am taking you back to 2014. and one of my first and favorite photo shoots by Berton photography.

Two years back I was a "baby pin up" when it all started; festivals, photo shootings, blogging, collaborations,...  Before that I was rockabilly gal in love with vintage and pin up, daily practicing my victory rolls. Rebel fest 2014. was my first experience as a pin up model and I will always remember that! I met wonderful people, including Berton couple who were photographers on festival and we immediately clicked. One week later I was invited to their home and then  these photographs were taken.

 

Rockabilly community in Croatia is small but strong, especially in some cities such as Vinkovci. Home to a local oldtimer club, rock'n'roll and many bikers who gather around in Hang Loose bar owned by Ana and Matija.

 

Considering this was my second time shooting with Berton photography we had a lot of fun, it was very relaxed and spontaneous, so we made up a little story. Volkswagen Beetle in the photos belongs to Ana and we thought it would be great to use it for a photo shoot!

I was a "lady in distress" when "my car brooke down" so Ana's boyfriend Matija "helped" me. Ultimately we took some nice rockabilly couple and also feuding couple photos hahaha it was so much fun and an experience that I will remember as long as I'm alive.

 

I was wearing a Hearts & Roses dress and Pin Up Couture shoes.

First my Daughter, forever my Friend

Hello sweethearts!

It is a wonderful time of the year in Croatia! Warm weather lures you, just to be outside and soak up the sun. But when you live in an agricultural region, this is the time when every sunset gild the sunflowers and wheat and I tell you- it is magical...
So I used one of those sunsets and took my daughter for a walk.

If you don't follow my blog from the beginning; I am a full time single mom, my daughter's name is Hana Leona and she is 6 years old. Hana Leona is very open, talkative and a real philosopher!Before she does anything she will have a good discussion about it, even if it's with itself, but when she starts there is nothing that can stop her. She is self-confident, resourceful and stubborn.

I guess if a woman dreams about having a children, most of them will want a girl... There is something special in a mother- daughter relationship. Mother-daughter relationships are complex and there are ups and downs like in any other relations. I am very close to my mother so I always wanted a daughter, a princess of my own.

And Hana Leona shattered my romantic ideas about parenting hahahaha like a true Scorpio she knows how to stand up to a Libra (me)! She taught me that the most important thing is to believe in youself, she taught me to be stronger, to be honest and grateful. I love this qoute: "By the time a woman realizes her mother was right, she has a daughter who thinks she’s wrong." It's so true hahaha
 

We are both still growing and learning, this fall she is starting school and I am (hopefully) getting a job as a newly social worker. Exciting things are ahead and I cant wait to see what the future holds for our little family ♥♥

In a dream with Gloria La Marr

Hello sweethearts!

H. Jackson Brown, Jr. once said: "Remember that the most valuable antiques are dear old friends."

You know that feeling when it seems as if you know a person for a long time and you immediately connect in some inexplicable way... That is how I feel with Gloria La Marr...and it always makes me smile when I think of how we met.

Nevenka aka Gloria La Marr and I were friends on Facebook for a quite some time when we accidentally met on the bus and shortly after agreed out first photo session and coffee with cakes. Unfortunately in that time Gloria finished college and decided to move to Ireland. Since then with longing I await our every encounter.

Gloria La Marr is a freelance writer, a poet, which seeks to celebrate love in poetry - even when the word "love" is not directly mentioned, it's all for the sake of it. She says she is a big dreamer and I would describe her like that too; dreamer, creative and gentle girl with passion for life, truth and beauty.

Every meeting with her is a food for soul so I was very happy when I got a call from her! I was particularly glad to hear that she is in Croatia and bringing her skirts that she designed and sewed herself for me to try it on. Beautiful Victorija from Blue turpentine blog jumped in to catch that moments on her camera.

Both of us are wearing skirts designed and sewed by Gloria La Marr. They are so precisely made and laced with romance, if I didnt know, I would say that they are true vintage. Her dream is to have her own brad and shop, and these days she is starting with Etsy shop.

After a short walk it started to rain so we went for coffee and cakes at Waldinger Hotel, the century-old Art Nouveau building which is protected as a cultural and environmental monument, designed and enriched with relief ornaments by architect and sculptor Antun Slaviček, Osijek Art Nouveau artist.

In my hand I am holding her book of handwritten poetry. She writes in Croatian, you can read some of her lyrics on page Put svijesti.

On the 30th of June 2016. Gloria's first book was published! More news about it and the future plans will come through the time. The whole book is in Croatian, so the real meaning of the title in English would be something alike: "The golden era". Congratulations my dear friend! <3

Purrrfect summer wiggle

Hello sweethearts!

Do you like cats? I do! But since I am unfortunately allergic I must avoid them...so I found a new way to surround myself with countless cats! One of my fav brands Voodoo Vixen is also known for their love of cats, I already have their pink Kitty, got my eyes on blue Katnis and today I am wearing their new mint Sherilee.

This dress combine three of my favorite things: cats of course, mint color and sass! A lots of it!
Sherilee will catch your eye with elegant V neckline, beautiful collar with pointy details at the back and black kickpleat with faux buttons.

Wiggle dresses are not common in my closet but I do have two of them also by Voodoo Vixen, both size M so I had doubts about sizing since one of them is almost too small and other well comfortable. So, still not aware of how much weight I lost, I decided to go with L, ya know "just to be sure"... It was not a huge mistake, when looking size chart my bust always goes more to size L so the dress is very comfortable. But considering the elasticity of the fabric (97% cotton and 3% elastane) I could freely size it down.

Sherilee dress is labeled as 50's dress but I'm feeling all 60's wearing it so I made myself a Amy Winehouse hair and bold eye makeup with rose pink lips. I imagined I'm a secretary in a big law firm and I can't wait to go on a after work coctail with my girls!

 

This fabric is adorable! It features a mint green pattern of patchwork squares that are filled in with yellow, pink and a darker teal, a great way to combine your accessories. Spotted inbetween these squares are Egyptian black siamese cats. The whole combination is perfectly broken up with matching black belt and kickpleat!





 

Sherilee dress has a specific cut that I would not recommend to a women more susceptible to shoulder width, I find it tends to make my shoulders less defined and not so wide than they really are.





Already well known Voodoo Vixen's eye for details is shown in playful wide collar and faux buttons. Everything is exquisitely balanced and fun for a summer day at the office and a night out.

Clarence and Alabama

Hello sweethearts!

...Clarence and Alabama are the lead characters in the film "True Romance", directed by Tony Scott and written by Quentin Tarantino- I haven't seen that movie but I know that because Amy told me ;)
And who is Amy? Amy is a wonderful girl behind Clarence and Alabama- shop, not the movie. And Amy made me the happiest person in the world because her shop retails my unicorn skirt!

But first things first, Clarence and Alabama is a UK shop that features designers like Collectif, Voodoo Vixen, Banned, Dolly & Dotty, Tatyana, Hell Bunny and many more. They offer dresses, tops, skirts, petticoats, shoes, you name it- they got it!

And that is how I found my skirt! Amy saw on Instagram that I'm swooning over that skirt and kindly messaged me that her shop has it in stock. I was over the moon!!!! Most of Croatian (European) girls buy from UK shops because it is close and fast shipping so knowing a great UK shop/retailer is a plus.

 

Shipping was super fast but when the parcel arrived I almost didn't want to open it, it was sooooo pretty with polka dots and pink wrapper... Like a gift! It does make you feel special <3 And the skirt!! Omg is it gorgeous!

It si a Hold Tight American Diner Skirt by Banned, amazing novelty print features a drive-in scene with waitress on roller skates at the Starlight Diner Drive-In in pink, purple, gold, blue and pink.  The skirt is a full pleated skirt and the fabric is a lovely soft stretch cotton. It is everything I imagined it woud be, thank you Amy! <3
