Love the one you wear!

Hello sweethearts!

Is it just me or does time fly when you're enjoying summer?!
Summer is the annual permission slip to be lazy. To do nothing and have it count for something. To lie in the grass and count the stars. To sit on a branch and study the clouds...
And to go on a holiday or at least swimming :)

I drenched my tooshie at Dolce Vita festival in Rovinj this year and decided to write a post about swimwear that I wore this and last year.

Both are from Ebay. I don't go swimming often so swimwear is a secondary thing in my closet to be honest.
Blue/red bikini I got last year when I was 15 pounds lighter and felt comfortable in 2 piece.

It is a cute navy like bikini with a high waist bottom. Red buttons give that ultimate pin up look.

Upper part features a cute red- white stripes and it is padded. Skinny straps are removable.

It ties on the back so it's very comfortable.

This year I decided to go for a one piece swimwear.

I love that it looks nice and coveres all my flaws. It is made out of two parts, bottom one is like regular one piece bathing suit. It is covered with stretchy, stitched, wrinkled upper part.

This bathing suit has many advantages, it is padded so you don't have to worry that it's see trough when gets wet, it gives a nice silhouette and hides tummy. I do have one complaint and that is that the upper part is rising when I walk but that is easy to solve with a few stitches! Otherwise I feel comfortable in it even with a few pounds up.

Therefore, whatever the style you go with this summer, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and sexy

I love summertime more than anything else in the world. That is the only thing that gets me through the winter, knowing that summer is going to be there. ♥♥♥♥♥

Custom made: Atomic tirquoise 2 piece

Hello sweethearts!

First of all thank you for 1000 pageviews!! ♥♥♥ Your support is very much appreciated and I will do my best to keep this blog worth reading and worthy of your precious time.
I love love love coming up with things for tailoring and no matter how manny dresses are in my closet I always wanted to have a look that is me, for which I can say  this is my trade look, it is who I am”. That I could only get with a cusom made piece.
I love Michael Miller fabrics, they are very imaginative, playful and bright. My favorite are Holyday hostess, ' MOD POD 'American dream homes 50'S 60'S, Atomic Tabbys Seafoam cats, Make it work and Mid Century Modern Atomic Tirquoise which I choose for my custom 2 piece.

It took me 3 yards of fabric for this pattern that my seamstress adapted in the process.

Since she made quite a few custom pieces for me, she knows how I think and we communicate great so I usually go to just one last fitting before she finishes it, we discuss lenght and details.

This is the final look, tie top and lounge pants:

I am very very satisfied, it came out just as I wanted! There are some minor things that I did not predicted- the fabric is not easy and it does not fall naturaly so when I walk it goes between my legs :/

But for me that is a minor problem for such a perfect 2 piece, I don’t mind messing around my crotch to adjust it as long as I look fabulous hahaha

Fabric I bought on Ebay for 30$ + 20$ shipping but than Croatian customs control take it so I had to pay another 20$ :(
Well, that is my "luck" but the fabric is amazing so it was all worth it :)

This 2 piece is perfect for the summer! It looks great together and apart, combined with white or black blouse or skirt and accessorised with cute booches and a head scarf.

Hope you like it!
Thank you Foto Mara for this photos and thank you tailoring salon Charme for making all of my ideas come to life ♥♥♥

There is no vision more vibrant than Violet

Hello sweethearts!

It’s the middle of summer here in Croatia and I am always looking for a look that fits my style but it is still light and comfortable to wear because it can get very very hot in here. So when I got Violet by Collectif Clothing I knew that dress will be one of my favorite for this summer.

50s Violet Chiffon Dress in Mint Green by Collectif is, as you can see, a floaty 1940s style swing dress. It has a very flowy and fun full circle skirt that goes just below the knee :)

This classy and super flattering dress features a stunning frock in a feminine blush and teal floral print throughout. This gauzy chiffon blend boasts a delicately collared button up front which are real buttons- not just a detail, princess seamed bodice and dainty cap sleeves.

The fabric is heavy weight but soft and fully lined to ensure it's not see trough.

The fitted bodice has an elegant ruffled deep V neck and the waist is defined by a loose bow strap that self ties in the front or back. I like to tie it in the back because the dress is so luxurious in the front.

This dress utilizes a side zip which means that you have to pull it over your head so this is where those front buttons come in handy.

I really like the pleated collar and the semi sheer chiffon fabric, It looks very romantic and great for a night but also for a daily look.

I paired it with a simple pearl jewelry, pink hair snood and big pink rose for a romantic walk trough vineyard.

Violet dress is perfect for any occasion, with this timeless classic you will always be dressed well!

And guess what??!! Collectif is having a big summer sale so use code SUMMER50 and get yourself a perfect summer dress!

Custom made: swing pants

Hello sweethearts!

For a long time I dreaded of high-waisted pants, didn't think I could pull them off with my tummy :(
Ever since I can remember, even when I was  slimmer I had a tummy, It is just the way I am built so I had no choice but to accept it.
This spring I realized that with good compression panties I can try to make it work because I bought super cute H&M blouse and I really wanted a great tiki inspired look for summer.
I bought a pink 1.6 yards material, not sure what type but it is very light with a little strech and it doesn't wrikle, I love that it's so easy-care.
This is the pattern that my seamstress followed:

With a little modifications this is how my swing trousers turned out:

I wear them a lot in a various combinations.

And the best thing is they fit like a glove and costed me 30$ in total!

I will have to get myself at least one more pair for a colder days maybe with a suspenders for that genuine 40s look ♥♥♥

Midnight In the Conservatory

Hello sweethearts!! ♥♥♥

I'm in a very good mood- it's summer and I just love warm weather, cold lemonade and evening walks in my summer dresses ♥♥♥
Speaking of dresses I have the perfect dress to twirl in on the night out!

I present to you "In the Conservatory" dress in midnight blue made by Pigtails and Pirates.
But first a few words about the mind behind the brand: Pigtails and Pirates began in 2011. when Laura Jones started creating children’s clothing. I am impressed that Laura is a self taught seamstress and pattern maker! Her Australian made and designed ladies and children’s clothing is extremely popular  on social networks where I first saw her work.

As you can see Pigtails and Pirates ladies clothing has a hint of retro to it, drawing inspiration from the 1950’s silhouette and feminine feel. Her beautiful designs appeal to women who are looking for vintage style dresses, 1950s dresses, rockabilly dresses, pin up style dresses or swing dresses.

Pigtails and Pirates have a wide range of beautiful fabrics and can even tailor a look just for you and your little daughter or son!

My dress is a gorgeous fully-lined bodice sweetheart style dress that features a print of vibrant florals on a dark blue background.

A palette of sea blues, poppy pink and chalk white flowers are the first thing you notice but the hint of lace puts the finishing touch to this beautiful " In the Conservatory" dress.

What I absolutely love on this dress is the sweetheart neckline and fat straps that stand firmly in place.

This full circle skirt hits just below the knee; dress is also available in white color fabric.

The fabric is soft cotton (doesn't strech), so light and flutter that it is perfect for summer! Dress is finished off with a hidden zipper on the back.

I paired it with my pink  petticoat for an extremely vintage look but I think it fits wonderful without it too, for a more daily look I just wear it with a pink cardigan, dark blue belt and cute summer sandals :)

Australian measures are different from the European so be sure to check size chart before order or ask the friendly Pigtails and Pirates team for advice! According to the size chart I am size 10 and my dress fits like a glove!

Pigtails and Pirates offers a diverse range of unique and original designs- you can see a small video of Laura discussing Pigtails and Pirates here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28c91GXRyIs
And for a full MUAH made by me check this short video here:
